Prenatal Therapy
Counseling for Pregnancy Support and Birth Preparation
Prenatal Therapy in Colorado
Pregnancy is often described as joyful — but for many people, it is also overwhelming, anxiety-provoking, and full of uncertainty. If you’re searching for prenatal therapy in Denver, Colorado you may be experiencing pregnancy anxiety, fear of childbirth, medical phobias, or simply the weight of preparing for one of the biggest transitions of your life.
You don’t have to navigate this season alone.
I provide therapy for expectant parents who want to enter birth and parenthood feeling informed, grounded, and emotionally prepared — even when things don’t go according to plan.

You Might Be Experiencing:
-
Fear of labor or childbirth
-
Anxiety about medical procedures or interventions
-
Fear, phobia, or symptoms of trauma affecting prenatal care
-
Constant “what if” thoughts about your baby’s health
-
Difficulty sleeping due to racing thoughts
-
Pressure to have a “perfect” birth
-
Overwhelm trying to make the “right” decisions
-
Identity shifts during pregnancy
Pregnancy is not just physical. It is neurological, emotional, relational, and deeply psychological.
Why Pregnancy Can Feel So Intense
Pregnancy is the beginning of matrescence — the developmental transition into motherhood (or parenthood). Hormones shift. Your brain begins adapting for caregiving. Your sense of self reorganizes.
In a culture that often prioritizes baby registries over emotional preparation, many parents are left unsupported. Anxiety during pregnancy does not mean you’re doing something wrong. It often means your system is trying to prepare you for something new and big.

How Prenatal Therapy Helps
In our work together, we can:
-
Process fears about childbirth
-
Prepare emotionally for different birth scenarios
-
Reduce pregnancy anxiety
-
Address medical or needle phobia
-
Clarify your values for birth and early parenthood
-
Strengthen your confidence in decision-making
-
Build coping tools for uncertainty
-
Begin to create rituals that honor your transition to motherhood or parenthood (and even invite loved ones or support systems to participate too!)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you relate differently to anxious thoughts, Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore parts of you that feel fearful or pressured, and EMDR when phobias or trauma are impacting your pregnancy. I also can collaborate with birth partners, doulas or other birth-workers on your team so you feel supported during birth.
My goal is not to promise a perfect birth.
It is to help you feel steady and empowered no matter how your story unfolds.
If you are looking for prenatal therapy in Denver, Colorado I would be honored to support you through this transition.
